Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day

Washington, D.C.
March 30, 1863
Senator James Harlan of Iowa, whose daughter later married President Lincoln’s son Robert, introduced this Resolution in the Senate on March 2, 1863. The Resolution asked President Lincoln to proclaim a national day of prayer and fasting. The Resolution was adopted on March 3, and signed by Lincoln on March 30, one month before the fast day was observed.

Pray for America

A Christian Nation

Like it or not, our Nation was founded on Christian Judea values. President Lincoln (a Republican for all you who don’t know any better)  further proved this not only for his efforts to abolish slavery but for his faith in God.

Not only was it a republican but a man of faith who ended slavery, while the democrats founded the KKK, and all the laws that suppressed the rights of African Americans, and they still do it today.

Abortion, murder of babies affects a higher percentage of minorities, just as poverty ( remember the fake war on poverty, you can thank the democrats for that) murder and high unemployment rates. This is a direct result of racism, and the plantation owners are still democrats.  They will continue to give hand outs, to buy the votes of the poor and uninformed minorities and todays slave have no choice (in their mind) but to vote for their masters.

Break the cycle,  no race is better or worse than the other in the eyes of our God, we are all created in his image. Turn back to God, white, black, brown poor or rich it is time again for this nation to humble ourselves before God, acknowledge our sins and turn back to him, only then can we as a country become whole.

Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln
William H. Seward, Secretary of State.

When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. – President Trump.

ca. 1980-2001

Patriotism has never been a bad word, or a dangerous belief. It is not prejudice, it is not isolationism it is what being an American is , has been and should be.

It was patriots who founded this nation, they were (and successfully so in my view) in search of a more perfect , not a perfect Union.

Many patriots have died defending this nation, they were from every race, religion rich and poor, they were Americans.

The Press

Patriots are found (though more rarely in recent years) in our press. They bring facts and information they are the peoples eyes and ears to keep this government in check, a Constitutional Republic, the true unbiased reporters are patriots, again their religion, skin color none of things are important, it is their love of this great nation that that is the great equalizer it is what makes them patriots.

Elected Officials

Elected officials that are there to make this country great, that do not care about the party, but the people. They do the right thing no matter how hard or what the consequence they uphold their oath, these men and woman are patriots.

First Responders

Our First responders, putting our lives ahead of their own, working long hours for little pay or reward. First responders are hated when they do their job and loved when they do their job, everyday when they go to work they go with the knowledge that they may not come home, these great men and woman are patriots and yet again their background is unimportant.

When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. – President Trump

The day after 9/11 American flags were everywhere we stood united against our enemy it did not matter poor, rich, white skin brown skin we were Americans.

The Turn , Patriotism Demonized

Under Barack Obama, suddenly being patriotic would get you on a list, labeled a bigot  it became a bad thing.

President Lincoln said “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”  The Bible is not silent on the subject please follow the link below.

Matthew 12:22-28New King James Version (NKJV)

Over the past 8-10 years the anti-American far left demonized patriotism, they purposely tried (and were pretty successful ) at dividing our house, we the people. These people are in fact traitors maybe all do not deserver hanging, but none deserve to go unpunished.

Unite or Die

People who would cede our nations laws to a foreign power such as the UN are in fact evil traitors. The hate freedom, they hate us, and you guessed it they hate everyone of us regardless of they very labels they invented to divide.

White skinned, brown skinned, rich poor, Christian, Atheist. We are all Americans , we can all be patriots. The picture above is old, but the truth it tells is the same, we will have to unite as a people or die under the boot of tyranny.

May God Bless this great nation and all of our patriots that come from all walks of life to preserve the freedom so many  have left us to protect and may we leave not only the same freedoms for our children and their children to enjoy but the promise of a more perfect union, not perfect we are after all only human.

Enough Already

Shut Up, Grow up Step Up

Shut Up, Grow up Step Up
knock it off
Shut Up!

It is time we shut up, grow up  step up, this applies to us all. Left, right, middle its time.

Republicans and Conservatives have a right to gloat a little 8 years of a President that we really did not like or trust  is over. Don’t be hateful and forgive if needed.

Liberals who do not understand the electoral college or a democratic republic ignore the media and learn. Don’t get your news or opinions from talk shows and do not trust the media, research as much as you can yourself.

Grow Up!

Mocking  the losers is good release, but yes we have to now get to the business at hand.

Those who are so upset that they are not functional, that lectured the right before the election to accept the outcome stop.

Step Up!

The time has come to step up, our freedoms demand our participation, not all have taking an oath, but by enjoying these freedoms you have agreed to support all of them and for everyone equally

Job One

After Shut Up, Grow up Step Up we know need to get to work. We the people, left, right, middle we have a lot of work to do. We must protect our place as the real leaders of this Republic.

Benjamin Franklin famously said this in response to a question ( I borrowed it from the link above) what form of government do we have – a republic or a monarchy?  He replied, “A republic if you can keep it.”

We need to stop thinking our rights, our Constitution don’t fit todays world that it is a “living document in need of update, WRONG!

No need to go over all of our rights but the first two are firmly in our control and intended to give We the people the Power as intended. Study it,  here is a great free online college course that everyone should consider,

The Wrap Up

Elections are rough and ugly, even as a Christian I sometimes go over the top. I would always encourage people to seek Christ, but in Christianity it is a choice. It does not change my love for you as my neighbors in the world.

These ideas don’t require you to be saved, just human.

  • Don’t trust the Internet or the Media Study.
  • Respect everyone else’s First Amendment Rights, after all if we all agreed we would not need to protect freedom of speech.
  • Hold the government accountable and don’t expect free stuff, the hidden price tag is your political soul.
  • It’s ok to judge people, but do it by their character, their actions not by their race, religion or country of origin.
  • Always remember that we the people must never be divided, we can disagree but in the end walk away from those leaders that promote division.

May God bless you all, our Country and our President Elect, time to move on.
