Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day

Washington, D.C.
March 30, 1863
Senator James Harlan of Iowa, whose daughter later married President Lincoln’s son Robert, introduced this Resolution in the Senate on March 2, 1863. The Resolution asked President Lincoln to proclaim a national day of prayer and fasting. The Resolution was adopted on March 3, and signed by Lincoln on March 30, one month before the fast day was observed.

Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day
Pray for America

A Christian Nation

Like it or not, our Nation was founded on Christian Judea values. President Lincoln (a Republican for all you who don’t know any better)  further proved this not only for his efforts to abolish slavery but for his faith in God.

Not only was it a republican but a man of faith who ended slavery, while the democrats founded the KKK, and all the laws that suppressed the rights of African Americans, and they still do it today.

Abortion, murder of babies affects a higher percentage of minorities, just as poverty ( remember the fake war on poverty, you can thank the democrats for that) murder and high unemployment rates. This is a direct result of racism, and the plantation owners are still democrats.  They will continue to give hand outs, to buy the votes of the poor and uninformed minorities and todays slave have no choice (in their mind) but to vote for their masters.

Break the cycle,  no race is better or worse than the other in the eyes of our God, we are all created in his image. Turn back to God, white, black, brown poor or rich it is time again for this nation to humble ourselves before God, acknowledge our sins and turn back to him, only then can we as a country become whole.

Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln
William H. Seward, Secretary of State.

Start your day in Gods Word

Proverbs 2:1-9

1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Such a treasure wisdom is, and it is even laid out step by step how we can receive it, yet so many are living in poverty. As Gods children he wants us to have wisdom, and we need it more and more and the church age ends.

Ecclesiastes 10:10

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

As we study, grow in God’s Word and fellowship we are putting an edge on our Christian iron which we will need more and more as time goes on and Christ return grows nearer. Staying active as Christians and Patriots requires prayer and growth. Sharpen the blunt iron, make it a little easier.

Heavenly Father help us remember your Word each day, be with us as we fellowship whenever and wherever we gather. Lord help us to not only keep and edge on the Spirit but to remember to put on the entire armor of God as we face the challenges of each day.

Proverbs 1:23-33(KJV)

The consequence of not seeking Wisdom

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

We know that not listening to God has consequences, not being saved being the biggest of all. But it is clear that ignoring Gods Wisdom results is bad things, the one being that God will ignore us in our time of need if we ignore him.

Always seek wisdom, it comes in many forms and from many places and even many people. God always finds the tool to best deliver his words of truth, we just need to recognize it.

The news today shows us we must be prepared as Christians for what is to come. We have to be ministers of His Word without God’s wisdom we would not have a chance. We have seen but a small sample of the worlds desire to show and act upon its hate for Jesus and His followers here in America and there is no reason to think we will never be attack in the same manner as many other Christians are every day. This past election was more critical then we will ever know I believe that God will use Donald Trump to give us one more chance on the world stage to spread the word of God without fear, even here at home.

Heavenly Father please help us seek Your Wisdom in all we do. Let our lights so shine Lord that everyone around us knows there is something different about us. Lord be with us should the time come and persecutions increases that we proudly stand on you Word and Wisdom.

Amen

           Grace and Trials

When trials come God; gives us grace

He stills our hearts and helps us face,

the fiery trials that Satan sends;

He gives us grace the victory win.

And when our body aches with pain,

He gives us grace to praise His name,

and look beyond our weakened state

to fields of glory that await.

Praise God for trials that come our way,

for God is molding us like clay.

He gives us trials that we may see,

that more like Jesus we will be.

Believers Are Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christ Fulfills the Law

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Believers Are Salt and Light

Particular in these end times believers need to be actively spreading the word of God. Doing so can be active, pastoring, ministering or by example (and all 3). Many of the televised and mega churches are part of the apostate church. They do not preach God’s Word unless they can make it all positive, or marketable. In so many ways, the salt has lost it’s flavor.

We also have many undercover Christians, a question you should ask yourself is , if accused of being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Christ Fulfills the Law

Christ death and resurrection fulfilled prophecy and brought us into the age of Grace, it is by Grace we are saved, but as we see in the verse above, the law did not simply disappear. In many ways as we continue on we will see that the Law was further defined by Christ and I would argue made it harder. Think about sin is a sin, but it is through Christ’s Grace we can be forgiven.  Though we are saved by his grace, it must be followed by works. If you become saved and then hide what good is it.

Works are very important for us as Christians, yes we are saved by Grace alone but works which involve witnessing, living in faith and trying to be more Christ like. We will also fall short of the glory of God, works with salvation will not get you into heaven.

As we approach the end of the Church age make sure that your light shines, that your salvation shows and that you follow Christ. Man kind will always let you down, and trying to live of the world and in the Word will not work.

When Storms Come

When things are rough as they can get,

You feel there is no way;

You feel that God’s forsaken you,

You find it hard to pray.

But God is there beside you as

you feel so tired and worn,

but He has promised you that he’ll

protect you in the storm

When times of difficulty comes

your faith will get you thru;

Remember God is your refuge,

He’ll never forsake you.

Storms of Life

When Storms Come

Storms come into our lives in many forms, sickness, sorrow, pain, money or lack there of, many things can bring turmoil to our life, it is how we get through the storm that can help define us and bring us wisdom.

Faith, the same faith that brings us to Salvation in Christ can bring us through the storm.

Mark 11:23 ESV

Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.

What ever mountain life has put in your path remember that if we go to God in prayer with the same faith that is the foundation of our Salvation He will move that mountain we just have to ask.

I am also reminded though we are saved through faith in Christ we are sanctified through our works, sometimes when the storm comes how we weather it will be a testimony to those people who to not believe in Christ. Works is not trust doing good things or being charitable but how we live our every day life and the storms it can bring, those works though you may never see the results may help bring someone to Christ.

Lord help us as we go through our day, help us to remember that the storms that life sometimes brings can calmed by our faith and pray found in your word.

I pray Heavenly Father that if there is someone reading this, stuck in a storm who does not know you as their Saviour that they will know that You sent Your Son, to die on the cross for our sins and just as he rose on the third day and defeated death, so shall we if we trust and accept him.

Amen
